Android News / Xiaomi Intros New Truly Wireless Earbuds & Smartwatches, Globally

The Xiaomi 12 series global launch took place yesterday. The Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro stole the show, alongside the Xiaomi 12X. That’s not all that Xiaomi announced, though. New Xiaomi smartwatches got announced, alongside a new pair of truly wireless earbuds.

The earbuds in question are called the Xiaomi Buds 3T Pro, while the smartwatch is called the Xiaomi Watch S1. That watch has been announced in both regular (S1) and sport (S1 Active) variants. Let’s talk about the earbuds first, shall we.

The Xiaomi Buds 3T Pro earbuds do resemble Apple AirPods Pro, to a degree. These earbuds come with a 10mm dual-magnet dynamic driver with sectional DLC coating. They do support Bluetooth 5.2, dual-device connectivity, and LHDC 4.0 audio codec.

You’ll also get up to 40dB hybrid active noise cancellation here, with three ANC modes. You can also opt for an Adaptive mode, if you want, which will let these earbuds adjust automatically based on the noise level around you.

There are also several levels of the ‘Transparency mode’, which allow you to stay aware of your surroundings. That is always a useful feature, so that you don’t have to take the earbuds off while you’re out and about.

Another feature worth noting is the Dimensional audio feature. It creates a 360-degree soundscape, so it can reproduce a next-generation audio experience similar to theaters. That’s, at least, what Xiaomi is claiming.

The earbuds are IP55 certified for water and dust resistance. The earbuds measure 34.01 x 20.38 x 23.22mm, while the case measures 65 x 48.5 x 24mm. These earbuds can provide you with up to 6 hours of play time, while you can get up to 24 hours of playtime if you count in the case charges.

The Xiaomi Buds 3T Pro earbuds come in Carbon Black and Gloss White colors. They are priced at $269, and will become available soon.

The Xiaomi Watch S1 and S1 Active are actually quite similar, though there are some differences. The S1 comes with a stainless steel frame housing, sapphire glass, and includes a leather or fluororubber strap.

The Watch S1 active is more colorful, and it has a Glass fibre-reinforced polyamide bezel. The Watch frame comes in three color options, and six different color options for straps.

Both watches feature a 1.43-inch 466 x 466 AMOLED display, though only the S1 has the Sapphire glass protection. Both watches have a heart rate sensor, and a sensor for blood oxygen monitoring. Other, regular sensors are included in the package.

Both watches offer sleep tracking, and fitness tracking. There are 117 different fitness modes available, including 19 professional fitness modes, and 98 expanded fitness modes.

You’ll find both a speaker and a microphone on these two watches, while they do support Alexa. Both watches include a GPS, and support Wi-Fi connectivity, while they’re equipped with Bluetooth 5.2 as well.

Yes, an NFC chip is included, and these watches can connect to both Android and iOS. They are also 5 ATM certified, and come with a 470mAh battery. That battery can provide you with up to 12 days of battery life, 24 days in battery saver mode.

The Watch S1 measures 46.5 x 46.5 x 11mm, while the ‘Active’ model measures 46.5 x 47.3 x 11mm. They both weigh around 36 grams.

The Xiaomi Watch S1 comes in Black, and Silver colors, both of which include leather and fluororubber straps. This watch is priced at $269. The Xiaomi Watch S1 Active comes in Moon White, Space Black, and Ocean Blue colors with matching black fluororubber straps, and separate Green, Orange, and Yellow straps. This variant is priced at $199.
