Several potential One Piece characters will appear in Odyssey, but who will be playable?

Only a handful of anime series have achieved the level of global success that One Piece has, and that is because it is arguably the best-written shonen anime of all time. One Piece follows Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat crew as they travel the Grand Line in search of a legendary treasure. Longtime fans of the series have been introduced to hundreds of characters over the years, and many of them possess unique powers and backstories.

One Piece Odyssey is the series' latest videogame, and it will be an RPG with turn-based combat. Fans will be able to play as the Straw Hats, who have been shipwrecked on a mysterious island. It will be great to play as Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Nami, Robin, Chopper, Brook, and Franky, but there are other characters that fans hope will be playable as well.

Shanks is an Emperor of the Sea, which makes him one of the strongest characters in the series, and he is the person who inspired Luffy to become a pirate. Furthermore, it seems that Shanks does not have a Devil Fruit power, making his overwhelming strength even more impressive.

Shanks is one of One Piece's most popular characters, even though he barely appears in the series. Given his popularity, Odyssey's developers could include him in the game in order to give fans a chance to play as one of their favorite characters.

Yamato is Kaido's daughter, and she has inherited some of his durability and monstrous strength. She also possesses the power of a Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit, allowing her to transform into an ancient wolf deity. She appeared near the end of the Wano Arc, and she quickly became a fan favorite.

Several characters have become honorary members of the Straw Hat crew, but Yamato officially joined the crew after her father's defeat. However, she has not been shown in any of the game's trailers, so she may be added later in a DLC add-on.

Jinbe is a former Warlord of the Sea and arguably the strongest Fish-Man in the series. He does not have Devil Fruit power, but he can use Observation Haki, and his Armament Haki is quite formidable. He is also a master of Fish-Man Karate, which utilizes the water in the user's vicinity.

Jinbe is the Straw Hats' helmsman, but he did not officially join the crew until the raid on Onigashima during the Wano Arc. Like Yamato, Jinbe has not yet appeared in any of the game's trailers, which means that the developers may be saving him for DLC.

Mihawk is another former Warlord, but he is also considered the world's strongest swordsman. His vision is virtually unmatched, and he has mastered every type of bladed weapon, and he wields Yoru, one of the 12 Supreme Grade Swords.

Mihawk can cut through just about anything, and his Haki makes his attacks even more devastating. He is the man who trained Zoro for two years, and he often dueled Shanks when the Emperor still had his left arm. Fans would love to use Mihawk's sword attacks, and it helps that he also has a cool design.

Sabo was once a World Noble, and he is a high-ranking member of the Revolutionary Army, but he is also Luffy's older adoptive brother. When Sabo set sail, his ship was destroyed, and for years Luffy thought he was dead. However, he survived the attack, and their reunion in Dressrosa was an emotional peak for One Piece.

Sabo, Ace's brother, also decided to eat Ace's Flare-Flare Fruit to honor his memory. This Logia-type Devil Fruit allows Sabo to manipulate and transform into fire at will. Fans of the series would love to see more interaction between Sabo and Luffy, and it would be great to use his fire abilities in combat.

Like Luffy, Eustass Kid is a captain who is part of the Worst Generation, and he has wanted to take down the Emperors for a long time. Kid is undoubtedly one of the best-designed characters in One Piece, and he is known for being quite bold and fearless.

All that aside, his Devil Fruit is the main reason why fans would like to play as him. He can manipulate magnetic forces, and it looks like Odyssey's mysterious island has plenty of metal on it. In addition, his ultimate attack would look great in-game since it would look like a massive monster made of metal.

As a Marine Vice-Admiral, Smoker is an enemy of every single pirate in existence. He ate a Logia-type Devil Fruit, which allows him to manipulate and transform into smoke at will, and he follows his own sense of justice. This is why he can sometimes view certain pirates as allies.

Under normal circumstances, Smoker would be used as a villain in a One Piece game, but Odyssey could change that if he is included. Odyssey's story will focus on a pirate perspective, but if Smoker were included, it would give the audience a sense of what the adventure means to the Marines and the World Government.

Boa Hancock was sold to the World Nobles when she was just a child, where she was forced into slavery until she was freed, and she went on to become a Warlord of the Sea. She is by far one of One Piece's best side characters, and she is madly in love with Luffy.

She has risked her life several times to help Luffy in the past, so coming to his aid while he and his crew are shipwrecked would not be surprising. In addition, her Devil Fruit allows her to turn anyone who lusts after her into stone, which means that she could be a good support character during combat.

Luffy's goal is to become Pirate King, which is a title that one other person has only held. Gol D. Roger became Pirate King after sailing the entire Grand Line, meaning he and his crew probably visited the same mysterious island shown in Odyssey.

Roger did not have a Devil Fruit power, but his immense skill with Haki made him one of the strongest individuals in history. If the game has any flashback sequence, it should include Roger so that fans can have a chance to play as the legendary pirate.

Trafalgar D. Water Law is another former Warlord, and the entire world was shocked when it was revealed that he and Luffy had formed an alliance. Law has been a valuable ally, and with Kid's help, he was able to defeat Big Mom.

Law ate one of the strongest and most versatile Paramecia Devil Fruits in the series, as it allows him to control the fabric of space within a designated area of his own creation. He can telekinetically teleport people and objects and rearrange physical material to his liking. He can even rearrange body parts or steal organs. This ability would be a lot of fun to use in-game.
